What is Whoorl?
Musings on beauty, style, and wellness from the lens of an *almost* 50-year-old. (Next year!! How did this happen?) I’ve spent decades researching and testing beauty products while sharing my findings online, as well as cultivating quite a personal interest in curating a closet full of classic pieces that span the test of time.
In terms of beauty and style, I break down what is worth buying and why. I also frequently share what’s working for me in terms of exercise and diet. #speedwalkersunite
How often do you publish?
As a free subscriber, expect an occasional newsletter (1-2/month) on new beauty products I’m loving or a list of style favorites.
As a paying subscriber, you will receive a weekly newsletter highlighting subjects such as what I’ve purchased that week, what I’m thinking about buying, a beauty product/ritual I’m loving, issues piquing my interest, snacks (this is a national treasure)…hell, I might even demonstrate how I dermaplane my face - don’t fence me in, people.
How much is a subscription and what do I get?
$5 a month, or $50 a year
As a paying subscriber, you get:
Weekly subscriber-only newsletter
Access to all my archives
The ability to comment on my posts - This is great for style/beauty questions, as well as the option to reply privately to me, via my inbox.

*I partner with different affiliate networks, so there is a high chance that if you click a link and purchase something, I am earning a commission on that purchase.
Wait, who even are you?
Hi! I’m Sarah James. Some would call me a “beauty influencer” but that term makes me want to vomit. Regardless, I have an incredible Instagram community of 100k+ folks where we talk ad nauseam about things like makeup, skincare, and Gucci loafers.
I’m 48, have two teenagers, and am married to an interior designer - we currently live in Oklahoma City, but I spent a fair amount of my adult life in coastal Southern California. I started blogging 18 years ago as a newlywed before the dawn of social media - yes, we had to code our own websites back then and yes, the blog is still chugging along (even though *quiet voice* I like it better here).
Since then, I’ve ridden the ever-changing wave of social media apps and trends because, at the heart of it all, I absolutely adore searching for the perfect {insert noun here} and sharing it with you.
So happy you are here!
