What is In Whoorl We Trust?
Solid recommendations and lifestyle musings from the lens of a 50-year-old style enthusiast and beauty product hoarder. “In Whoorl we trust” was coined by a follower due to my dutiful, insanely vetting process before sharing my finds with you. I’ve spent decades researching, testing, and sharing my findings online, as well as cultivating quite a personal interest in curating a closet full of classic pieces that span the test of time.
In terms of beauty and style, I break down what is worth buying and why. I also frequently share what’s working for me in terms of exercise, diet, and a particular beast called perimenopause.
How often do you publish?
As a free subscriber, expect my weekly Odds and Ends post on Fridays chock full of links to favorite articles, products, and general nonsense.
As a paying subscriber, you will receive a weekly newsletter highlighting subjects such as style - what I’m wearing and/or thinking of purchasing, beauty - a product/ritual I’m loving, issues piquing my interest like midlife/perimenopause, snacks (this is a national treasure)…hell, I might even demonstrate how I dermaplane my face - don’t fence me in, people.
How much is a subscription and what do I get?
$5 a month, or $50 a year
As a paying subscriber, you get:
Weekly subscriber-only newsletter

Wait, who even are you?
Hi! I’m Sarah James. Some would call me a “beauty influencer” but that term makes me cringe. Regardless, I have an incredible Instagram community of 145k+ folks where we talk ad nauseam about things like makeup, skincare, and Gucci loafers.
I’m 50 with two teenagers, married to an interior designer - we currently live in Oklahoma City, but I spent a fair amount of my adult life in coastal Southern California. I started blogging 18 years ago as a newlywed before the dawn of social media - yes, we had to code our own websites back then and yes, I finally retired it when I jumped on board with Substack last year.
Since then, I’ve ridden the ever-changing wave of social media apps and trends because, at the heart of it all, I absolutely adore searching for the perfect {insert noun here} and sharing it with you.
So happy you are here!
