Fake fall #1 has descended on Oklahoma, but I will not be fooled as it will surely be hot AF next week. However, it definitely gets me excited about fall style and my tried-and-true fall uniform. Not one to dive into trends, I stick with classics that look chic now and will remain chic for years and years to come.
A Blazer
Left to right, top to bottom:
Sezane Christie Houndstooth Jacket
Nili Lotan Diane Single-Breasted Blazer
Me + Em Italian Pinstripe Boyfriend Blazer
Veronica Beard Miller Dickey Jacket
Cos Double-Breasted Wool Blazer
J. Crew Brown Herringbone Blazer
Sezane Michele Jacket in Mottled Grey
There is simply no faster way to pull a look together than with a blazer. I equate this to wearing a dress in the summer…people always ask where I’m going and what big thing I have planned when I’m wearing a summer dress when in actuality, a dress is the absolute quickest and easiest garment to throw on. 5 seconds and I’m out.
Same principle here. Jeans, a tee or blouse, flats…throw on a blazer. Boom, done. Chic as hell.
My favorite brands for blazers are Nili Lotan (oversized), Veronica Beard (fitted), Sezane (great price point), Me + Em (unique), Anine Bing (chic urban flare), Cos (classic and affordable), and J. Crew.
A Button-Up Shirt
Left to right, top to bottom:
Saint Laurent Cassandre Shirt in Striped Cotton Poplin
Polo Ralph Lauren Striped Cotton Shirt
Polo Ralph Lauren Logo-Embroidered Cotton Oxford Shirt
Once again, trés classique! You can pair a button-up with anything - suits, jeans, skirts, whatever floats your boat. I prefer cotton for machine-washing at home. Silk button-ups are beautiful but I really hate dry cleaning.
Straight Leg Jeans
Left to right:
Citizens of Humanity Florence Wide Straight
Citizens of Humanity Charlotte High-Rise Straight
A straight jean style is my favorite because it’s just right down the line - not too skinny, not too voluminous. They pair with all types of shoes, look good on just about anyone, and thanks to Levi’s 501s, will always be in style.
I rarely veer from Citizens of Humanity and Moussy Vintage and I prefer mine cropped at the ankle, but that’s just me. (Gotta show off that loafer collection!)
Loafers
Clockwise from top left:
Loeffler Randall Rachel Loafer
Larroude Patricia Leather Loafers
Freda Salvador Elba Penny Loafer
Freda Salvador Elba Penny Loafer
Gucci Jordaan Loafer in Butterfly Pink
Colehaan Lux Pinch Colorblocked Loafers
Listen, I’m not going to beat around the bush…I spend a fair amount of moolah on shoes and bags. (It’s one of my style tenets, remember?)
My love for loafers runs deeeeeep. A classic penny loafer never goes out of style. And a bit more refined, Gucci Jordaans also never go out of style. (I have dark brown and black and wear the hell out of them.) It’s a shoe you can truly wear the rest of your life, with some resoling from a cobbler.
Celine and Gucci make my favorite loafers, but there are more affordable options that serve up the exact same vibe. These Sam Edelmans look like Jordaans, and these Colehaans are the perfect penny loafer shape. Also, this season’s woven loafers by Loeffler Randall are perfection.
Berry Blush
No fall uniform is complete without a berry flush on the cheeks!

I’m so ready for the cooler weather. What are some of your fall faves?
I’d love a fall bag review of your faves! Better yet, an entire post on the Saint Laurent tote, which may be my bag soulmate. 😍 Is the leather so soft? How does it compare to Loewe leather? You have a new Loewe style, too, right? My love of handbags makes me sympathetic for all the people on the TLC shows who have an unhealthy love of inanimate objects.
Love this! I wish button downs and belts worked for me, love this look. I have curvy hips and a tiny waist so anything tucked in winds up being an ongoing adjustment frenzy lol. I’ve built a similar model of jeans/cardigans/soft tops/ballets. Comfort is everything and knowing what works on your body.
